Got new issue of Classic Rock which had Joe Elliott & Nikki Sixx in conversation, Lydia Loveless (new artist who sounds quite interesting), a big article on thrash metal (Kirk was always way too pretty to be in a thrash band *g*) and a recent interview with Axl Rose plus a review of It's So Easy - I imagine if Axl ever wrote his memoirs they'd be ( Read more... )

Also got Reckless Road (got it cheap as I had a money off voucher for WH Smith) which was about the early days of Guns N' Roses - it had tons of really rare photos & onstage set lists plus quotes. I thought it was good that they gave credit to the girls who supported the band in their early days by giving them money/a place to stay, dancing onstage ( Read more... )

I got the new issue of Spin magazine because it had a big feature on the 25th anniversary of Purple Rain which interviewed a lot of people involved in it (although not Prince himself) which was interesting. I went to see Colt last night and they were absolutely amazing. Even the girl I went with was totally converted and she'd never heard them before and it wasn't really her thing. They sound much more intense and 'rock' live and Andrea is so mesmerising onstage that they are definitely one band you need to see live to fully appreciate. Great ( Read more... )
